Visitors Bureau Launches New Mobile Website
Visitors and residents of Hopkinsville and Christian County now have
another valuable resource at their fingertips. Cheryl Cook, Executive
Director, for the Convention & Visitors Bureau announced recently
that the mobile website is available on all smart phones at www.visithopkinsville.com.
The Pew Research Center shows that 35% of American adults own a smart
phone. Of those adults owning a smart phone, 87% use it to access the
internet or e-mail.
The new site gives visitors a way to find: Events, What to Do, Where to
Eat, and Where to Sleep from their smart phones. The “What to Do”
section enables users to find out about the area’s many wonderful
attractions – from the numerous outdoor recreational areas to the
museums displaying the heritage of southwest Kentucky, Fort Campbell,
and Edgar Cayce.
The “Events” lets them know about youth and adult sports tournaments,
festivals and celebrations around Hopkinsville.
The Visitors Bureau launched their weekly e-newsletter “Christian
County This Weekend” in October 2008. The newsletter which comes out on
Wednesday morning includes events for the weekend, a list of upcoming
events, and ongoing events. Email tourism@visithopkinsville.com
to sign up for Christian County This Weekend.
In August of 2010 the CVB announced the
Visit Hopkinsville App that residents or tourists can download for
free using their Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official Destination
