Country Stars Sawyer Brown to Headline Saturday Night at Summer Salute Festival
Sawyer Brown’s free headliner show is made possible by sponsorship from Pennyrile Electric and Fortera Credit Union. The concert will be at 7 pm in front of the Justice Center in downtown Hopkinsville and fans are encouraged to bring their own seating.
The six-time country music Vocal Band of the Year has released 20 studio albums, three Number One hits and 50 singles that cracked the U.S. Billboard Hot Country charts. The group rose to fame in as winners of the TV Show Star Search in 1983 and then lived up to their hype with a long string of hits and national awards from CMA, ACM and CMT. Their number one chart toppers include Step That Step, Some Girls Do, and Thank God For You.
“Like previous Summer Salute headliners, Sawyer Brown will bring a long list of hits and great energy to their Saturday night show in Hopkinsville. Everyone who has heard them before raves about their concerts and many folks remember still fondly recall the band’s last local concert at the Western Kentucky State Fair years ago,” said Tab Brockman, Parks and Recreation Superintendent. “And we want to thank Pennyrile Electric and Fortera Credit Union for sponsoring the show to make it free for our community.”
“Pennyrile Electric is happy to sponsor Sawyer Brown this year. I’ve had the opportunity to heare them several times over the years and know they will not disappoint. They have a ton of hits,” added Brent Gilkey, Pennyrile Electric Vice-President of Member Services.
“Fortera Credit Union is proud to be a sponsor of the Sawyer Brown concert during the 2018 Summer Salute. One of Fortera’s core values is to serve our community and this is a great way for us to give back,” said Susan Dickinson, Fortera Credit Union Community Relations Manager.
Sawyer Brown’s Mark Miller also formed his own Christian record label, Beach Street Records, in the 2000s and has played an instrumental role in the development of Christian music stars Casting Crowns.
