Joe Mumford Park Groundbreaking Set for April 30th
Mayor Carter Hendricks announced today that a groundbreaking for Joe Mumford Park will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the park’s new location on Woodmill Road between Sharpe and East 18th Streets. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
Mayor Hendricks stated, “We couldn’t be more excited to see construction of this important project begin and look forward to offering a top notch recreation facility for families throughout the community.”
Christian County District 1 Magistrate Magaline Ferguson added, “This has been years in the making, so always be persistent and never give up. We see the results of determination, hard work and dedication to the beautification for our neighborhood.”
Authorized by Hopkinsville City Council as part of the Hoptown-Christian County WINS slate of projects, the $750,000 recreational development will feature a playground, full-sized basketball court, pavilion, restroom facilities, parking, play fields, and lawn areas for gatherings.
