VIDEO: Mayor & City Council Swearing-In Ceremony
In the continued wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hopkinsville officials are opting to conduct a virtual swearing-in ceremony for Mayor Wendell Lynch and the Hopkinsville City Council later this month.
The oath of office will be administered by Lynch’s brother and retired Christian County District Court Judge Arnold Lynch and District Court Judge Lindsey Adams. The mayor and city council members will be sworn in individually Tuesday, Dec. 29, inside City Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. A comprehensive video will then be aired at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, available for viewing via Hoptown.org/tv, City TV (Spectrum channel 376) or Facebook.com/CityOfHopkinsville.
In order to comply with local and statewide recommendations related to COVID-19, each individual will take their respective oath at separate times. The ceremony will not be available to the public, including family members or guests of the mayor or council members.
