Crime Stoppers Reaches Reward Money Milestone
The Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers program recently went over a quarter of a million dollars in reward money being paid to anonymous tipsters in the 31 year history of the local program.
During its first year, which began in December of 1984, Crime Stoppers paid out seven (7) cash rewards with a total of $1,050 cash being paid to anonymous tipsters as compared to its 31st year of 2015, when the program paid out fifty (50) cash rewards with a total of $10,050 cash being paid to tipsters.
Crime Stoppers is an organization committed to playing a significant role in reducing crime in our community and it gives people an anonymous, confidential way of getting information to law enforcement without ever having to appear in court as a witness.
Crime Stoppers has assisted local law enforcement in making thousands of arrests on charges such as Murder, Felony Assaults, Rape, Robbery, Burglary, and Felony Drug Charges just to name a few.
Crime Stoppers exists because of monetary donations made to the program by the citizens and businesses of Hopkinsville-Christian County. We would like to thank the community for all the support we have received over the last 31 years and we hope for your continued support in the future.
