FIREFIGHTER PARAMEDIC/EMT/TRAINEE
($41,650 annual salary plus $4,000 Incentive, plus EMS stipend, After all training & certifications) 

Applicants must be 21 years of age, eligible to work in the U.S., high school graduate or equivalent, in excellent physical condition, and possess a valid driver's license. POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE
$36,729 Starting Salary
(After completion of training $41,650 Salary + $4,000 State Incentive)
 

Applicants must be 21 years of age; eligible to work in the U.S.; high school graduate or equivalent; in good physical condition and possess a valid driver's license.  Applicants having a felony conviction or having a Domestic Violence conviction cannot be considered as directed by Kentucky State Statute.  Comprehensive testing, including stamina and agility, written, psychological, polygraph and physical will be administered.  Physical agility/written assessment has been tentatively scheduled for  Saturday, August 24, 2019 and applicants will be notified of location/time of event after job advertisement deadline. 

An extensive background investigation will be performed.  Copies of birth certificate, social security card, driver's license, high school diploma or GED, separation from military service form DD214 (Member-4 copy), if applicable, will be requested for submission at a later date.

911 / Emergency Telecommunicator
$28,552 Starting Salary

Operate multi-line phone system, answer 911 emergency telephone calls, and dispatch calls to responding field units. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age or older, type 35 WPM, possess strong verbal/written skills, & multi-task in a high stress environment.  Applicants are subject to a background investigation, suitability screening test, polygraph, drug test and successfully complete a 5 week training course at the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training/Eastern KY University in Richmond, KY.  Prior public safety training/experience desired.

THE CITY OF HOPKINSVILLE 
Fire Chief
(Salary Range $66,371-$91,397)

The Fire Chief is responsible for administering the overall operational functions of the Hopkinsville Fire Department and Hopkinsville/Christian County Emergency Ambulance Service.  Develop department policies/procedures and an organizational structure in accordance with all applicable federal, state, & local laws, guidelines and/or restrictions.  Must be familiar with professional standards including, but not limited to, IFSTA, NFPA, OSHA, and NIOSH.   Requires a high school diploma or GED; minimum of eleven (11) cumulative years as a paid professional firefighter, firefighter/EMT or firefighter/paramedic with a paid municipal fire department.  Must have at least three (3) years of the eleven (11) cumulative years as a comparable paid professional fire captain or above position with a paid municipal fire department. Must possess and maintain evidence certification as a Firefighter in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be Kentucky State Certified Level I Fire Instructor.
