GROUNDSKEEPER
($12.88/hr. minimum starting wage)
 

Requires abilities in the operation of mowers, weed eaters, hand tools and other equipment used in grounds maintenance.   Involves manual labor in maintaining the city’s Parks & Cemeteries while also providing street maintenance support.  Provide custodial and maintenance support to the Sportsplex and other City facilities/parks.  Also, requires sufficient strength to perform strenuous physical outside labor for extended periods even during adverse weather conditions.  Occasional weekend and evening shifts required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED.  CDL license a plus.

STREET MAINTENANCE WORKER
$27,136 salary minimum
 

Requires a high degree of skill in operation of light and heavy-duty mechanized equipment.  Preferred experience in construction and/or experience in pouring & finishing of concrete curbs & sidewalks and various masonry & carpentry work. Commercial Driver’s License preferred but must obtain within probationary period for this full-time position.

POLICE OFFICER (LATERAL)
$42,171-$55,360 salary range + $4,000 state incentive
 

Must be a KY certified Police Officer or approved by the Department of Criminal Justice for transferable out-of-state police certification credentials.Additional information/documents/testing may be required as successful applicants continue thru the recruitment process. An extensive background investigation will be performed.  

Shift schedule rotates days/evening shifts with 4-ten hour work weeks with every other weekend off.Excellent benefits include health, dental, vision, & life insurance. 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, and 8 floating holidays per year are offered.  Certified Police Officers may be eligible for a $9,000 hiring incentive.

POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE
$37,188 starting salary

(After completion of training $42,171 Salary + $4,000 State Incentive)

Applicants must be 21 years of age; eligible to work in the U.S.; high school graduate or equivalent; in good physical condition and possess a valid driver's license.  Applicants having a felony conviction or having a Domestic Violence conviction cannot be considered as directed by Kentucky State Statute.  Comprehensive testing, including stamina and agility, written, psychological, polygraph and physical will be administered.  Physical agility/written assessment has been tentatively scheduled for  Saturday, February 13, 2021 and applicants will be notified of location/time of event after job advertisement deadline. 

An extensive background investigation will be performed.  Copies of birth certificate, social security card, driver's license, high school diploma or GED, separation from military service form DD214 (Member-4 copy), if applicable, will be requested for submission at a later date.

911 / EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATOR TRAINEE
$28,552 starting salary 

Operate multi-line phone system, answer 911 emergency telephone calls, and dispatch calls to responding field units. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age or older, type 35 WPM, possess strong verbal/written skills, & multi-task in a high stress environment.  Applicants are subject to a background investigation, suitability screening test, polygraph, drug test and successfully complete a 4 week training course at the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training/Eastern KY University in Richmond, KY.  Prior public safety training/experience desired.
