Animal Control Officer
Starting Salary $27,136

Patrol city streets to locate & capture stray animals roaming city streets or public areas. Enforce pertinent animal control ordinances while maintaining strict adherence to established humane methods to capture, handle, and transport stray animals.  Will work on designated rotating shifts while patrolling the City and respond to emergency situations.  Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and must be able to physically handle large aggressive animals without undue harm to the animal or endangering him/herself.

Sportsplex Recreation Assistants
(part-time and seasonal positions) 

Will support the operations of the Hopkinsville Sportsplex and/or assist with various athletic events.  Greet visitors, direct participants, and/or assist with athletic events in a variety of sports.  Requires a minimum of a 10th grade level education and interest/experience in related athletic or sporting events.  Available shifts include mornings, evenings, and weekends.

POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE
$36,729 starting salary
(After completion of training $41,650 Salary + $4,000 State Incentive) 

Applicants must be 21 years of age; eligible to work in the U.S.; high school graduate or equivalent; in good physical condition and possess a valid driver's license.  Applicants having a felony conviction or having a Domestic Violence conviction cannot be considered as directed by Kentucky State Statute.  Comprehensive testing, including stamina and agility, written, psychological, polygraph and physical will be administered.  Physical agility/written assessment has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2020 and applicants will be notified of location/time of event after job advertisement deadline. 

An extensive background investigation will be performed.  Copies of birth certificate, social security card, driver's license, high school diploma or GED, separation from military service form DD214 (Member-4 copy), if applicable, will be requested for submission at a later date.

Must be a KY certified Police Officer or approved by the Department of Criminal Justice for transferable out-of-state police certification credentials.Additional information/documents/testing may be required as successful applicants continue thru the recruitment process. An extensive background investigation will be performed.  

Shift schedule rotates days/evening shifts with 4-ten hour work weeks with every other weekend off.Excellent benefits include health, dental, vision, & life insurance. 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, and 8 floating holidays per year are offered.  Certified Police Officers may be eligible for a $9,000 hiring incentive.

911 / Emergency Telecommunicator
Starting Salary : $28,552 

Operate multi-line phone system, answer 911 emergency telephone calls, and dispatch calls to responding field units. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age or older, type 35 WPM, possess strong verbal/written skills, & multi-task in a high stress environment.  Applicants are subject to a background investigation, suitability screening test, polygraph, drug test and successfully complete a 4 week training course at the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training/Eastern KY University in Richmond, KY.  Prior public safety training/experience desired.
