city seal icon
In response to large community support, the City of Hopkinsville has extended its community-wide donation drive until Wednesday, September 13th as part of ongoing efforts to send needed items to Hurricane Harvey victims in Houston and its surrounding counties.  Mayor Carter Hendricks and Team Hopkinsville extend their sincere thanks to numerous business and individuals who have already pledged their support to this worthwhile cause.

Mayor Hendricks noted, “As part of our planning and coordination, we have been in contact with the United States Conference of Mayors and Houston officials who would like to share the following guidance with local groups and individuals still interested in participating.”

DONATION GUIDELINES

  • Immediate needs include toiletries, cleaning supplies, and diapers.
  • Please do not send clothing, bedding or furniture at this time.
  • Financial donations may continue to be directed to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, or the Greater Houston Community Foundation at www.ghcf.org

The city has also partnered with Calhoun and Company to open a central donation staging area at the old Sears Building located at 2418 Fort Campbell Boulevard (next to Restoration House).  Donations may be brought to this location or other partner locations through next Wednesday.  Those items will be packed and staged on Thursday, September 14 and loaded on Friday, September 15 for delivery in Houston by next weekend.

For other local relief effort updates including a complete listing of other drop-off location, please see the partner directory on Facebook @HopkinsvilleHarveyRelief
