"Drop Your Drawers" Campaign at the Library in November

library
Make your next visit to the Library a brief one, for a good cause, as part of Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library’s Drop Your Drawers campaign.

Drop off packages of new underwear for boys and girls, preferably sizes 4-16, from November 1-30, near the circulation desk. Donations will help replenish Christian County elementary schools’ supplies of emergency underpants and provide direct assistance to each school’s Family Resource Centers.

The need is great. Schools are handing out underwear to children who need a clean pair due to accidents at school or issues at home. Because parents often are unable to bring fresh underwear to their children during school hours, children can miss valuable learning time in the classroom.

The Library’s goal is to receive 600 pairs. Underwear will be distributed evenly to the elementary schools in Christian County.

The Drop Your Drawers campaign is easily recognizable by the popular character of Captain Underpants by author and illustrator Dav Pilkey.

The library’s collection of Captain Underpants’ children’s books will be on display (and available to check out) during the Drop Your Drawers campaign. By all means, stay awhile and enjoy the library’s many services. (The Library doesn’t really want you to make your visit brief!) For more information about the campaign, email brittani@hccpl.org or call (270) 887-4262.

Underwear may be dropped off at Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library: 1101 Bethel St; Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
