Mayor Hendricks stated, “We are really thrilled to break ground on this project to relocate Second Street Park. Thanks to this investment, one of Hopkinsville’s fifteen community parks will double in size and enjoy a significant increase in amenities designed for the whole family.”
Authorized by Hopkinsville City Council as part of the Hoptown-Christian County WINS slate of projects in collaboration with Inner City Residential Enterprise Zone (ICREZ), CDBG and Section 108 Loan funding, the $568,000 recreational development will feature a playground, basketball court, pavilion, restroom facilities, parking, and lawn areas for gatherings. The adjacent community center will continue to be utilized for private rentals.
