Mayor Hendricks stated, “The City of Hopkinsville offers our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Officer Phillip Meacham as well as his brothers and sisters at HPD. I encourage all residents to continue to pray for the family and our entire city as we mourn the loss of one of our finest. We will get through this challenging time because of our strength, compassion, and love.”
Officer Meacham’s public visitation will be held Tuesday, April 3 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Christian County High School gym. The public memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at Christian County High School gym. Lamb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Flags on city property will remain lowered to half-staff until the memorial service.
Candlelight Prayer Vigil
The public is also encouraged to bring candles and attend a candlelight prayer vigil tomorrow, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Police Memorial Park beside Hopkinsville Police Department located at 101 North Main Street (rain location: First Baptist Church located at 1400 South Main Street). Please like Hopkinsville Police Department’s Facebook page and tune in to local media outlets for final location notice to be available by 6 p.m. tomorrow.
