Mayor Hendricks Delivers Fourth Budget Address

Mayor CH
Today Mayor Carter M. Hendricks delivered his fourth budget address with recommendations for FY2018-2019 city spending.  In the address, Hendricks noted the balanced budget relied on no prior year spending despite significant new mandated costs for local government.  Mayor Hendricks also highlighted progress on a number of key initiatives and infrastructure investments.

Hendricks stated, “Thanks to great fiscal management by our team, we are pleased to present another balanced budget proposal for City Council consideration. We are also excited to put forth plans to continue and build on our community’s momentum.”

Continuing the city’s commitment to government transparency, Mayor Hendricks is also making his operational and capital budget recommendations available to the public for viewing or download from the city website at hoptown.org/budget

Beginning this afternoon, the entire budget address will also be available for on-demand streaming from the city’s website at hoptown.org/tv or by tuning in to City TV Channel 12.  Spectrum Cable customers who use QAM-enabled televisions without digital boxes, may tune in to Channel 16-103.  City TV is also available to AT&T U-Verse customers on Channel 99.

Mayor Hendricks’ budget recommendations will be taken up by Hopkinsville City Council at multiple Committee of the Whole meetings.  To be held on May 10 and 24 (if needed) beginning at 6:00 p.m., those meetings will also be streamed and televised live.
