As many as 300 youngsters are expected to attend the 5th annual Christmas at the Bend event on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville. The event will take place from 1:00-3:00 pm, same day as the City’s Christmas parade.
The 1:00-3:00 pm event, will entail refreshments to include homemade cookies, apple slices, hot chocolate and hot apple cider. Prior to partaking of the refreshments, families will have the opportunity to make Christmas Cards for Nursing Homes, interact with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, play nature games for prizes, participate in recycling crafts and listen to firemen and police officers talk about safety, particularly during the holiday months.
The event is sponsored by the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee in cooperation with the Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area Council, Inc.
The admission fee of $5.00 per car, $10.00 per bus up to 15 passengers, and $15.00 for 16 and above is low, to accommodate all families. The entrance fee covers all activities costs, except the photo with Santa in his workshop, which will be $5.00. In appreciation of the services of military families, the modest entrance fee is one dollar less per car and bus.
