An ambitious community development initiative, the rail trail project includes conversion of a 5K abandoned railway corridor into safe, accessible greenway space. This proposed public/private collaboration includes connection to an existing riverwalk, rail trail conversion, development of three trailheads, and a neighborhood connector.  Offering convenient access to users, the trail will be established adjacent to parks, pavilions, playgrounds, existing trails, and restrooms.

The trail system is another key component of ongoing local healthy community initiatives.  Along with other parks redevelopments getting underway this summer, this first class rail trail addition will greatly enhance recreational opportunities for local residents and area visitors alike.
