Enter the Business Plan Competition by March 18th

The Christian County Community Vision Plan 2020 and the Christian County Chamber of Commerce announces the 5th Annual Entrepreneurs, Inventors and Innovators (El2) Business Plan Competition in which individuals or teams are invited to compete for a prize package up to $4,000 cash and business services to help them successfully start a business or innovative concept in Christian County, Kentucky.  (Download a Flyer)

To enter, participants must complete a short registration form available at the Christian County Chamber of Commerce or at facebook.com/ChristianCoBusinessPlanCompetition by Friday, March 18, 2016. The application will only take about five minutes to compete.

A combined business plan and business pitch workshop will be held for all contestants on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Commerce Center. Draft business plans must be submitted by Friday, April 15, 2016, and final business plans must be submitted by Friday, May 13, 2016. Judging will take place on Friday, June 3, 2016.

Criteria for evaluation include concept quality, marketability, strength of the financial model and sustainability over the long term. Entries can consist of any business or innovative concept that is not in operation prior to July 1, 2015. A complete set of rules is available upon request. The winner will be announced at the annual dinner of the Christian County Chamber of Commerce held on June 9th.

The goal of the El2 Business Plan Competition is to help stimulate entrepreneurial activity and greater awareness of the resources available to grow entrepreneurs in Christian County. Individuals or teams participating in the competition must attend the business plan/pitch workshop. Participants will test their business ideas with successful entrepreneurs and business resource professionals who will serve as judges for the competition.

Previous award winners include Tangy Roots Frozen Yogurt in 2012, e3trition in 2013, iRepair in 2014, The Bloomery in 2015. The contest originally began as an Economic Growth goal of the Christian County Cares Vision Plan and was implemented in 2012 with the first contest. The contest remains a goal of the Christian County Community Vision Plan 2020.
