Mayor Hendricks Shows How Hoptown WINS with Second Budget Address

A packed house came to hear Hopkinsville Mayor Carter M. Hendricks deliver his second budget address and recommendations for FY 2016-2017 city spending.  In his recommendations, Hendricks focused on how Hoptown WINS if we unify behind a bold, strategic vision for an array of important Wellness, Infrastructure and Neighborhood projects.

Mayor Hendricks noted, “I’m excited to present to citizens our unique opportunity to deliver the best possible quality of life for our residents as well as to strengthen our position as regional sports and general tourism destination.”  He added “These Hoptown WINS project are essential to building a healthier, happier, and wealthier Hopkinsville.”

Continuing commitment to government transparency, Hendricks is also making his operational and capital budget recommendations available to the public for viewing or download from the city website at www.hoptown.org/budget

Beginning this afternoon, the entire budget address will also be available for on-demand streaming from the city’s website or by tuning in to City TV Channel 12.  Time Warner cable customers who use a QAM-enabled television without a digital box, may tune in to Channel 16-103.  City TV is also available to AT&T U-Verse costumers on Channel 99.

Mayor Hendricks’ budget recommendations will be taken up by Hopkinsville City Council at multiple Committee of the Whole meetings.  To be held on May 12, 19, and 26 (if needed) beginning at 6:00 p.m., those meetings will also be streamed and televised live.
