The new center will be anchored by national leading retailers including Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, Rue 21, Ulta, Burke’s Outlet, Rack Room Shoes and PetSmart.
Chris Hake, Vice President of Thompson Thrift Retail Group, has been working with City and County officials on the development of the proposed shopping center since mid-2012 and has stated that the cooperation Thompson Thrift has received from various members of the City and County are what made the project possible.
“We are pleased to be breaking ground on Hopkinsville Towne Center today,” said Hake. “The hard work and dedication of several City and County officials along with our retail development team made this project a reality. Thompson Thrift is committed to delivering a first class project that will be a lasting asset for the City of Hopkinsville and surrounding communities.”
“On behalf of the Hopkinsville City Council and residents throughout the region, we are excited to celebrate this retail project and the new shopping opportunities that will enhance our quality of life and help attract more visitors to our community,” said Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks. “This project shows Hopkinsville is growing and better days lie ahead. In addition, we remind everyone to shop local and help Hopkinsville win.”
“In this region, commercial development is an important factor in sustaining and improving the vitality of our businesses and our residential neighborhoods,” stated Liana Mitchell Wallace, Executive Director of the Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council. “We are thrilled to welcome Thompson Thrift to Southern Kentucky and can’t wait for the doors to open at Hopkinsville Towne Center.”
