
Launched on strong public support for dependable public transportation, the city partnered with Pennyrile Allied Community Services and obtained grants to get things moving. With an initial goal of 4,000 annual rides, Hopkinsville Transit drove past expectations delivering over 20,000 rides in 2015. This year the system recently cruised past the 28,000 ride mark.
Hopkinsville Transit also has expanded to three routes with over 50 stops and provides dependable and affordable transportation to residents from all walks of life.

About KLC Enterprise Cities Award and Hopkinsville Transit
The Kentucky League of Cities Enterprise Cities Award is designed to recognize city projects or programs making a true impact on their communities. 2016 winners include the cities of Hopkinsville, Owensboro and Paducah.
Operating Deviated Fixed Route services, Hopkinsville Transit is made possible by funding from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet/Office of Transportation Delivery and general fund appropriations from Hopkinsville City Council.
