Eclipse Logo Unveiled at Press Conference on August 21st

Mayor Carter Hendricks invites the public to the unveiling press conference for the winning logo design to promote Hopkinsville’s much anticipated total solar eclipse.  The event will be held on Friday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the DeBow Recreational Complex pavilion.  Ample parking is available in the lot at the North Drive complex entrance.

Chosen from among 114 submissions by 31 talented artists, the winning logo will be featured on eclipse marketing materials to be circulated around the globe.

“It’s not every day that our community has the opportunity to showcase to the world what makes us a great place to live, work, and play,” Hendricks said.  “This is one of those unique chances to highlight why we are proud to call Hoptown our hometown, and we intend to make the most of it.”

In addition to unveiling the logo, the conference will highlight plans that are well underway to roll out a topnotch Kentucky welcome to a host of visitors anticipated to descend upon the city for the August 21, 2017 eclipse.
