Community Vision Plan
With the input of more than 1,000 citizens, the Hopkinsville-Christian County community developed a Community Vision Plan. The result of this comprehensive process is a roadmap to success with objectives, action steps and outcomes leading the way. Elected officials, business and leaders, along with many passionate citizens are together leading the charge in making Hopkinsville the community it's residents desire that it become. Education
Join us in congratulating Christian County Public Schools as recipients of a $20,000 P-16 grant to help underwrite a multi-county Education Summit and fund ACT test preparation! If you are interested in joining the next Community Education Summit Planning Committee, please email us.
Mayor Dan Kemp, County/Judge Executive Steve Tribble, and Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Brady Link encourage the community to pledge volunteer hours for the 2009-2010 school year. To volunteer, stop by the School Volunteer Challenge at the Memorial Building on September 3rd from 6 – 8 p.m. or call 270-U-SHARE2 (874-2732). Don’t forget to tune in for the telethon to be broadcast live on cable Channels 3, 10, and 12. Join the Christian County Literacy Council in their efforts to help all children become “Ready to Read” by helping parents and caregivers read to their birth to 4-year old children at least 20 minutes a day. Click here to pledge your commitment today. Also, spread the word to your family, friends, churches, and community groups as we all strive to ensure our children are fully prepared for learning as they enter school.
