James E. Bruce Convention Center Announces New Hotel

Today, Hopkinsville Investment Partners, LLC, an investment partnership managed by Jeff Anderson and Jack Anderson in partnership with local investors Randy Arnold, Bob Arnold, and Mary Ann Russo announced, the construction of a 100-room full service Holiday Inn Hotel with bistro type food and bar service to be located adjacent to the James E. Bruce Convention Center and soon to be constructed Sportsplex.  Construction of the hotel is slated to begin in 2018.  The ownership group has owned and operated the Holiday Inn Express in Oak Grove for the past 21 years.  As local investors, Randy, Bob, and Mary Ann are pleased to be involved with the development and are proud to invest in their hometown.  Their partnership with the Andersons over the past several decades has been one of vision and growth for the greater Christian County area.

Managing partner of Hopkinsville Investment Partners, Jeff Anderson, had this to say about the project, “We are excited to continue to be a part of the expanding business and tourism sectors within the City of Hopkinsville and the greater Christian County area.  The area has provided a great footprint for success over the years at our Holiday Inn Express location, and we look forward to growing that footprint at the new Holiday Inn in conjunction with the Convention Center and Sportsplex.”

The new hotel will complement the new Sportsplex which has recently broken ground and is slated to open in October of 2018.

Convention Center Board Chairman Darrell L. Gustafson stated, “This investment by Hopkinsville Investment Partners has been a long-term goal of the Board of Directors.”  He added, “We appreciate the confidence in our market shown by the group through their investment in our community.”

Gustafson also noted, “Providing a full-service hotel will allow for marketing towards multi-day events and foster a new opportunity of growth for the facility.  Construction of a 14,800 square foot addition to the Convention Center will commence before the end of the year to accommodate new business generated by the hotel.”

City of Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks applauded the efforts of the Convention Center Board and Hopkinsville Investment Partners and remarked, “We are really excited about this project and what it means for our tourism economy.  We believe this project will bolster the already strong performance of the Convention Center as well as deliver an important complement to other planned development near that site.”
