Hopkinsville League of Women Voters to Present Sexual Harassment Forum

The League of Women Voters of Hopkinsville-Christian County, in partnership with The Human Relations Commission of Hopkinsville, the Hopkinsville Community College, The Hopkinsville Young Democrats and The Young Republicans of Hopkinsville, will present a forum on "Sexual Harassment in the Workplace" Thursday, Feb 1 at the Hopkinsville Community College.  We will gather at 5:15 in the Gallery for refreshments and the forum will begin at 5:30 in the Auditorium. (Food is not allowed in the auditorium.)

The news is full of stories: of harassment suits being paid off, of women (and men) coming forward to share their accounts, of people who have resigned their positions (or not) after allegations are made.  Not a partisan issue - harassment costs us millions in productivity loss, settlements and mental anguish.  The #metoo movement has been credited with bringing this taboo subject to light.  Now what?

A panel of experts will provide information, provoke discussion, and answer questions from the audience.  The panel includes:  Tom Wallace, an HR professional with over 30 years of experience; Dr. Ken Casey, professor at HCC; Carolyn Self, MS, LCSW – retired, and Jack Lackey, Attorney.  Join us for what is likely to be a lively discussion.
