Hopkinsville Sportsplex Sneak Peek Set for November 1st

Community Invited to Take Sneak Peek at State-of-the-Art Facility
Hopkinsville Sportsplex announces three-part event series to unveil new building

There is so much excitement building around the brand new Hopkinsville Sportsplex that the facility has decided to divide the unveil festivities into a three-part event series.

That series will begin with a community-wide Sneak Peek from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, giving local residents — including students who will have a chance to attend after school — the opportunity to get a first look at the 54,000-square foot Sportsplex.

The Sneak Peek takes the place of the ribbon cutting, which was originally slated for the first day of November. The official ribbon cutting will be rescheduled, then followed with an Open House. Those exact times and details will be released at a later date.

The creation of these singular events comes amidst overwhelming interest and excitement surrounding Hoptown’s new state-of-the-art indoor sports complex, while also allowing for construction crews to ensure the Sportsplex is properly prepared for an influx of visitors and activities.

“We are hearing from dozens of people every day who are interested in utilizing the Sportsplex, who are eager about the opening date and who are beyond interested in being a part of this historic effort,” said Hopkinsville Sportsplex Marketing and Events Coordinator Chris Jung. “To make sure that as many of those individuals are given the opportunity to experience the facility up close and personal, we have created a series of events to accommodate those requests.

“And if there was ever a reason to have three different parties, this is definitely it.” Thursday’s Sneak Peek will give attendees the chance to get a glimpse of the Sportsplex exterior and interior, including the recently-installed turf field, which measures at 185x80 feet and offers one of various indoor athletic options, along with 18 basketball goals, netting and more.

“We are striving to deliver a first-class experience to all our guests, which is the primary motivating factor in providing these upcoming opportunities to visit the Sportsplex,” said Facility Coordinator Tony Henson. “We are equally eager to open the doors to the building and look forward to sharing in that experience with the community.”

During the Sneak Peek, guests will have a chance to provide their email address for future Sportsplex updates and newsletters. Three of those names will be selected during the event, winning an official Sportsplex polo shirt if chosen. Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks and Christian County Judge Executive Steve Tribble will provide public comments during the event.

As construction nears completion, the Hopkinsville Sportsplex is currently booking tournaments and events. Those interested in getting more information or being placed on the calendar should contact Jung or Henson at 270-985-1700 or
