HHS Senior Riley Fort Named 2019 Distinguished Young Woman of KY

The Distinguished Young Women of Christian County Scholarship Program is excited to announce Riley Fort, has won the 2019 Distinguished Young Woman of Kentucky Scholarship Program. Fort is the daughter of Kerry and Beverly Fort and is a senior at Hopkinsville High School. 

Thirty young ladies from across the state participated in the 2019 Scholarship Program over the weekend. Each participant competed in five categories: talent, fitness, interview, scholastic, and self-expression.  Fort won Overall in Self-Expression, Overall in Interview and the Overall WINNER, DYW of KY.  She has earned over $10,000 in cash scholarships through the local and state programs. 

Riley will represent Kentucky and travel to Mobile, Alabama in June of 2019 to compete for the title of Distinguished Young Woman of America, a share of more than $125,000 in cash scholarships and millions in college scholarships.

Distinguished Young Women of Christian County Scholarship Program is an official preliminary of Distinguished Young Women of America the oldest and largest scholarship program for high school senior females of its type.  Since 1958, DYW has awarded more than $92 million in cash scholarships and provided thousands of young women with college granted scholarships to colleges and universities across the nation. Each year, DYW makes available more than $52 million in scholarship opportunities to high school senior women.
