City of Hopkinsville to Show Support of Ft. Campbell at January 20th Listening Session

In a strong show of support for our Ft. Campbell neighbors, Mayor Carter Hendricks and Hopkinsville City Council unanimously adopted a resolution supporting the maintenance of current troop levels at Fort Campbell and urging Congress to oppose any reductions at the base. This action was taken in advance of the January 20th Department of the Army Listening Session to be held at Fort Campbell.

Beginning at 4:30pm on January 20th, visitors may enter Ft Campbell’s Gate 1 for access to the Family Resource Center meeting location at 1501 William C. Lee Road. The session, which gives officials, business owners and citizens an opportunity to voice their support, is scheduled to run from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

Mayor Hendricks encouraging local officials and Hopkinsville citizens to attend the January 20th Department of the Army Listening Session noted, “It is critical that the Department of the Army hear from us on this issue. Citizens of Hopkinsville may show their support for Fort Campbell by attending the Listening Session on January 20th to express the importance of Ft. The January 20th regularly scheduled Hopkinsville City Council meeting is being moved to January 22nd to allow Council Members to attend this meeting which is so important to our community. (The official notice of meeting change will be released separately.)
