Black History Exhibit on Display at the Pennyroyal Museum
In celebration of Black History, the Pennyroyal Treasures exhibit features the collection of Jeff and Deirdra Taylor, Hopkinsville. Among the collection are historical books, one bearing the signature of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., first issue stamps, Sports Illustrated and Life magazines, along with framed portraits of Coretta Scott King and Rosa Parks. This exhibit will be on display at the Pennyroyal Area Museum through February.
The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is located at 217 East 9th Street in downtown Hopkinsville and includes the Pennyroyal Area Museum and the Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum. General admission to the Museum is $2 with special rates for seniors and children; there is no admission fee for the Museum Shop. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 9am-5pm; Saturday, 10am-3pm; Closed Sunday and Monday.
